This fort was built by Raja Mahadi as a defensive barricade against Raja Abdullah (his rival in a war over control of the Klang district). The Raja Mahadi Fort was used as a vantage point to spy on enemy ships that sailed through Pangkalan Batu. Years later, the fort fell into the hands of Tengku Kudin, who was sent by the Sultan of Selangor to exact revenge on Raja Mahadi for failing to pay his debts to the Sultan. The battle, which lasted six months, finally ended with the retreat of Raja Mahadi. Since the peaceful settlement, the fort next to the present Klang Municipal Council Hall now serves as an impressive landmark of the state.
