Description:
Covering 5 acres of land in Taman Alam Forest Reserve, the Freshwater Fish Aquarium boasts of at least 1500 number of fishes out of 60 species such as the Aligator Gar Fish ( Ikan Buaya ), Giant Snakehead ( Toman ), Tor Tambra ( Kelah ), Golden Arowana ( Kelisa ), Walking Catfish ( Keli ) and many more. Interestingly, most of the fishes are from the Selangor River, Kuala Selangor. Visitors can get information on the concept of the Freshwater Fish Park, types of freshwater fish and their history in Kuala Selangor and traps used by fishermen such as bubu udang, bubu daun, bubu saadah, raga tok, raga batang, serkap and many more as displayed in the gallery. Each exhibit is accompanied by a clear description including the scientific name of the different species of freshwater fish on display.
